San Francisco Security Guard Stops Assault; Says “Just Trying To Help”

Security guards are often unsung heroes as they help people in need, prevent crime and protect property on a daily basis. It’s only when their actions are caught on camera that their positive deeds become known. Such was the case when a San Francisco security guard stopped the assault of an elderly woman.

The 76-year-old Chinese grandmother was attacked by a homeless man. Security guard Samba Guisse came to her aid and knocked the man to the ground. The man was eventually arrested. Samba’s modest response was that he was “just trying to help.”

Security guards put their lives on the line to keep the peace. Guards regularly patrol specific areas and are known to those in the neighborhood. When an incident occurs or someone is causing trouble, the community turns to guards for assistance. Security guards understand the vibe of the area they patrol. They build relationships and trust. These kinds of relationships go a long way to keep areas secure and people safe.

Security Guard Training. Every security guard must go through extensive training to obtain his or her guard license. One of the components of their training is community and public relations. They are trained to diffuse situations so they don’t escalate. They strive to be a positive influence and someone to turn to for those in need.

At Access Control Security, we take community training a step further with continuing education for our guards.
