Demand for Security Guards on the Rise

We live in an unsettled world—where conflicts can quickly escalate, random acts of violence are increasing and crooks are becoming more sophisticated and brazen when stealing from others. That’s why it comes as no surprise that the use of security guards is on the rise. According to statistics cited by Statista, California leads all other states in the number of security guards employed—over 151,000. Almost 1.15 million guards are employed nationwide (Bureau of Labor Statistics). That’s more than the number of police officers (about 800,000).

Rigorous Training. With demand for guards increasing, it’s smart to select a security guard company with fully trained guards experienced in securing your type of building, store or event. Access Control Security, for example, has over 25 years of experience securing just about every kind of venue. It only employs  fully licensed guards that meet the standards set by the State of California, and have had their licenses verified by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). ACS guards also participate in a rigorous training program that is a model for the industry.

The security guard company must also have the capability to assign enough officers for the venue size. ACS security officers patrol in marked vehicles, on bicycles and in golf carts when a large area needs to be secured. Each officer in the field uses long-range radios and cell phones so clients can easily contact ACS personnel while on duty.

Onsite Inspections. Leaving nothing to chance, ACS maintains strict quality control of its guards. ACS management and security supervisors visit client sites for both scheduled and unannounced quality inspections. ACS uses a computerized patrol monitoring system that continually monitors staff with printed activity reports that are then provided to clients.
