Security Guard Training Opportunities Through ACS

If you think you have what it takes to be a security guard in today’s sometimes tumultuous world, Access Control Security if now offering Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS) online training that qualifies participants for their California Security Guard Card.

Training Requirements. Individuals must successfully pass an initial 8-hour guard training course and receive a BSIS certificate of completion. An additional 32-hour training course is required (16 hours within 30 days of being hired as a security guard, 16 hours within six months of being hired).

Other Requirements/Timeline. As part of the applicant process and before becoming a registered BSIS security guard, applicants must have their fingerprints taken and pass a Department of Justice and FBI criminal history background check. It takes four to six weeks to process applications. Approved applicants will receive their California Security Guard Card about three weeks after approval.

Guard licenses must be renewed every two years and require additional continuing education.
