LinkedIn recently announced its 25 fastest-growing jobs in the U.S. for 2025.  Coming in at number 10 are security guards. Each year, LinkedIn releases its “Jobs on the Rise” list, looking at millions of jobs started by LinkedIn members over the previous three years and researching what to expect going forward.

Skills Needed. LinkedIn noted that successful security guards must have skills in security operations, surveillance and customer service. New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco are where more security guard jobs are located according to the report. Most guards are male (67%) compared to women (33%) but expect that gap to narrow.

After receiving a state security guard license, guards are in big demand. Since the pandemic, security guards have been asked to take on more significant roles. They maintain order, take the lead in emergencies and prevent criminal activities in a variety of settings.
